Steve is a real estate professional with over 40 years of experience in brokerage, suburban commercial development, mixed-use urban redevelopment and golf course community development. He has been active as a consultant to urban projects utilizing federal and state historic credits, worked on more than 45 transactions utilizing Section 1031 of the I.R.S. Code, and specializes in project feasibility assessment and team formation.

Prior to joining Gershman Commercial Real Estate, Steve was Vice President with Coldwell Banker Commercial and Vice President of Business Development for Pyramid Companies, St. Louis, MO., the largest developer of mixed-use properties in the St. Louis Region. As a broker, Steve completed transactions with Peoples National Bank, Sprint, San Sai Restaurants, Mosaic Tapas Grill, Phoenix Creative, William B. Ittner, Edison Schools, Infuz: A Digital Creative Agency, Verizon Communications, Code Consultants, Inc. and Rynearson, Suess, Schnurbusch and Champion.  Institutional representation includes U. S. Bankcorp, Advantage Capital, Great Southern Bank, the F.D.I.C. and St. Patrick's Center.

Steve’s resume includes both national and local development experience utilizing various forms of subsidies for both greenfield and brownfield projects.  The urban projects utilized more than $500M of subsidies and credits in their debt structure including NMTC’s, federal and state historic credits in the construction of the Paul Brown Building, The Dorsa, Banker’s Lofts, MX, The Laurel and the American Brake Company Building.

National development expertise includes suburban commercial office and retail shopping centers in Florida, Colorado and Missouri where the developments were anchored by national and regional anchors including Winn-Dixie, Walgreens Drug Company, Sears, Xerox Corporation, MidAtlantic Trust Company, Chili’s Restaurants, Hickey Schools, Honeywell Corporation, American Multi-Cinema, Tuesday Morning, National Foodstores, Dean Witter, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, McDonald’s Restaurants and Prudential.

Golf course community developments include the acquisition, planning and construction of the Tapawingo National Golf Club, a Gary Player Signature golf complex. Steve also consulted to the developers of the Grand Marais Golf Course in Centreville, IL, and the Osage National Golf Club, Osage Beach, Missouri
